Occupational Therapist Roles

Founded in January 2024, The Fundamental Occupational Therapist is currently a mobile service offering occupational therapy services to children aged 0-16 servicing the NDIS and private sectors in the Tamworth region. We are passionate about making therapy FUN and meaningful for all involved.

We are seeking a passionate, motivated and fun Occupational Therapist (Paediatric) to join our team!

The Role

Description

The role will include:

  • Conducting assessments and therapy sessions directly with children aged 0 to 16 based on individualised treatment programs with a variety of developmental levels.

  • Preparing treatment plans and activities to achieve meaningful goals and outcomes for an allocated caseload.

  • Supporting clients, their families and key stakeholders to support participants to stay reach their full potential in meaningful and holistic way that is evidence-based.

  • Documenting client progress and providing feedback to broader therapy teams to assist in refining treatment plans.

  • Actively participating in interdisciplinary learning with opportunities to attend Professional Development sessions and gain insights into various therapy approaches.

  • Working collaboratively as part of a small team.

  • Flexible work - you select your hours and days, the role in negotiable for part-time or full-time. Work-life balance is a core value allowing you autonomy to set your own schedule.

  • Above award wages, travel allowance and allocated work laptop and phone. Additionally you are provided with a therapy start-up kit but also have access to numerous resources within the team.

  • Continuous Professional Development Opportunities to expand your areas of interest both internally and externally including regular supervision with your senior.

  • Generous incentivised bonus plans based on performance.

  • Paid day off on your birthday (no annual leave docking).

Therapy Assistant Roles

Founded in January 2024, The Fundamental Occupational Therapist is currently a mobile service offering occupational therapy services to children aged 0-16 servicing the NDIS and private sectors in the Tamworth sectors.

You will work alongside an experienced Occupational Therapist in a 1:1 supported role allowing for opportunities of professional development. You will be provided with an opportunity of developing key skills through caring a small case load delivering and facilitating therapy plans to appropriate clientele. Participants will provide with support and regularly reviewed through joint sessions and unlimited indirect supervision is available. There will also be fortnightly direct supervision. Currently, the company clinically operations Monday to Wednesday. However, these days are flexible to suit your university studies.

The position entails working from home as well as collaboratively in breakout spaces. The successful applicant will also be required to, at times, attend to home base office of the responsible occupational therapist.

Performance based compensation programs are available for those who excel in performance. However the focus for the role is professional development and development of skills relevant to engagement in your 4th year placement and new graduate occupational therapy roles.

The Role

  • Conducting therapy sessions directly with clients based on individualised treatment programs provided by qualified Occupational Therapists.

  • Preparing treatment areas and organising therapy materials and activities for each session.

  • Supporting clients during therapy activities with a view to helping them stay engaged and motivated to achieve their goals.

  • Documenting client progress and providing feedback to the therapy team to assist in refining treatment plans.

  • Actively participating in interdisciplinary learning with opportunities to attend Professional Development sessions and gain insights into various therapy approaches.

  • Working collaboratively as part of a small team.

  • Opportunity for career development and advancement with the potential of extension of contract.
